VISYON's 3rd Press Release

The VISYON project proudly announces the completion of the “European Youth Diary” – a groundbreaking compilation born out of the collaborative efforts of VISYON youth local groups across Europe. The diary stands as a testament to the active engagement of young citizens in discussions about the 11 European Youth Goals, reflecting their thoughts, stories, and recommendations.

The European Youth Diary is more than a collection of stories; it serves as a mirror reflecting the current state of European policies. Comprising the voices of 267 young Europeans, the diary aims to assess the effectiveness of European policies in achieving the 11 Youth Goals and proposes a roadmap for improvements.

Divided into 11 chapters, each corresponding to one European Youth Goal, the diary offers a comprehensive overview of the collected interviews. These chapters highlight captivating suggestions, stories, views, and recommendations for improvement. Each section begins with a set of questions posed to interviewees, along with summaries of their answers and noteworthy quotes gathered during the creation of the European Youth Diary. In addition to presenting the goals and objectives, the diary showcases existing European initiatives related to each goal. Surprisingly 72% of the interviewees acknowledged that before taking part in this initiative, they had never heard of the European Youth Goals. Only 9% of the respondents claimed to have a solid understanding of these goals, indicating a notable lack of awareness.

Remarkably, the vast majority of the respondents (80%) stated a strong desire to be more actively involved with these initiatives despite the general unfamiliarity. Furthermore, 80% of the respondents agreed that the EU’s commitments to young empowerment are important and effective, demonstrating the confidence that is placed in the EU’s ability to affect change.

EU Youth Diary is a tool for the policymakers, youth organizations, and all the young people around Europe to assess the effectiveness of European policies in achieving the 11 Youth Goals, and to propose a roadmap for their improvements.

The fundamental mission of VISYON project is to equip young participants with the tools and knowledge necessary to effect change in their communities and beyond. European Youth Diary is more than just a collection of stories: it is a document that presents the voices of 267 young European citizens, who are the agents for a more inclusive, green, digital and sustainable future!

VISYON_2nd Press Release

VISYON's 2nd Press Release

VISYON“Values, Ideas and Stories from Youth ON stage ” is a project created by the partnership of 8 associations around Europe. It is a 24-month long Erasmus+ KA3 European Youth Together project that aims to encourage youth’s social and civic engagement and ensure that young people have the necessary resources to participate fully in society.

It is a European Youth Together project that unites NGOs and young people from all over Europe: Greece, Bulgaria, Italy, Slovakia, Netherlands, Spain, and Malta.

8 groups from different countries, around 80 young people from 15 to 29 years old, and 24 youth workers are meeting in their countries in person. But also they have online meetings among the local groups of the different countries to connect them and support transnational cooperation.

The project started in March 2023 and participants already had local workshops in all the partner countries, to deepen their knowledge of the 11 European Youth Goals, Digital Storytelling methods, and principles of Media Literacy. Also, they had an opportunity for a scriptwriting session for the short movies.

Participants are in the process of making a European Youth Diary, which is a compilation of stories, views, and recommendations of 264 young European citizens reflecting the current state of European policies’ efficiency in achieving the defined European Youth Goals.

In the next activities, the participants will have a chance to go to the International Youth Mobility in Greece, where participants from all partner countries will meet in January 2024. Also, participants will have an opportunity of a short movie shooting process with a professional movie agency, Tanino Films from Italy which will take place between February and August 2024.

VISYON project was designed in this particular framework, with the specific goal to Engage, Connect and Empower young people across Europe by equipping them with a stronger sense of belonging to the European society, thus turning them into active citizens with highly important skills for the 21st century, such as media literacy and digital content creation.

The project is based on an innovative approach, which will enable young people to share their opinions and recommendations for EU Youth Policies through short-movies creation. The project unites several NGOs from all over Europe, in particular:

    • ● Entrepreneurship and Social Economy Group (EKO) from Greece – Project Coordinator

SCRIPT-WRITING WORKSHOPS

SCRIPT-WRITING

WORKSHOPS

The VISYON project title stands for Values, Ideas, and Stories from Youth ON stage. The project title was chosen carefully and has a meaning behind it – the project result will be a series of 11 short movies – 1 movie per 11 European Youth Goal! Through an innovative approach – short movie creation – the European Youth community will have a chance to share their Values, Ideas, and Stories!

However, the process of short movie creation is a challenging and complex task. From September 2023, the project partners are organizing and implementing workshops on script writing with their local groups.

These scripts will become short movies and are expected to be published around September 2024. Short movies will be based on the insights, opinions, and stories of young Europeans gathered during the summer of 2023 through VISYON EUYouth Dairy creation process!

VISION Script writing workshops are a process of deep analysis, creativity, and collaboration. Stay tuned for the results!

EU YOUTH DIARY CREATION

EU YOUTH DIARY CREATION

Interview Collection Process

VISYON project started with the local training on the 11 European Youth Goals, digital storytelling, and the principles of media literacy. Thanks to these workshops, local groups of VISYON’ers obtained the necessary tools for a good understanding of 11 European Youth Goals, their targets and objectives, and equipped with the essential skills and competencies for the 21st century. To prepare youngsters for the upcoming initiatives – the creation of the European Youth Diary- partners organized workshops on how to effectively conduct the interviews. This step was important for the local groups to understand the interview methodologies, and interview types and to foster their soft skills to successfully complete the challenging task – to collect 267 interviews from young Europeans!

During the summer, the local youth groups around Europe were engaged in gathering testimonials from peers within their local community. These testimonials served as a valuable resource, sharing their personal experiences related to the diverse fields covered by the EYG, and providing insightful recommendations for their improvement. These interviews were conducted to assess the effectiveness of European policies in achieving the 11 Youth Goals and to propose a roadmap for their improvements. The interview database will serve as a base for one of the main project results – European Youth Diary!
